Besari

Certain kolams are drawn in the shape of ancient ornaments. A besari is an ornament that indian women wear in their pierced nose. This kolam is drawn in the shape of that besari, hence the name.

Hello Mira- nice about this kolam - 3 kallu besari - there is one song - yettukallu beasari potta - edupa erukum mooku [ adutthathu ambujathai parthella...]This is part of our antique jewellary and cannot be removed from our culture.

very true, Nitya Bhen. But now-a-days no one is piercing their nose. so, these ornaments have now become antique.
