Popsicle Umbrella for my Ganpati

Sharing with you another fun popsicle project. An Umbrella.

You will need :

1. Popsicle sticks - 5 Nos
2. Yarns of different colours
3. Glue gun
4. thermocol balls / beads
5. Clay
6. Empty colour bottle
7. Acrylic Colours

Procedure :-

Arrange 3 sticks as show in the picture below to form the top part of the umbrella

Make the stick support for the umbrella by joining two sticks as shown in the picture

now when the 3 sticks you have arranged earlier has dried up, tie the yarn and wind it around the stick and take it to the next stick, wind around it...so on. the pictures that follows may give you an idea.

Now using glue gun, attach the top portion to the stick. decorate with beads / thermocol balls

Stuff some clay inside an empty colour bottle. Place the stick and cover the bottle with clay by rolling out it using a rolling pin after dusting the surface with talcom powder.

let the clay dry for 2 or 3 days. Then colour it.

Now a beautiful umbrella is ready.

Jhoola / Swing - Popsicle - ice stick craft

For a long time thought of making a small swing / jhoola using popsicle sticks. Finally gave it a try today (ofcourse with lot of re-works) and here it is for your art admirer eyes

You will need

1. Popsicle sticks - 1 bunch or 22 sticks
2. Rope
3. Beads (optional)
4. Glitter glue
5. Glass colours
6. Craft glue or fevicol or glue gun

This is how I did that. 

1. Arrange the sticks as shown here (make 2). This is the base. For additional support I stuck a cardboard of the same size below the sticks at the base.

2. Place two sticks crossing each other on top as shown in the photo (do it on both the bases)

You got two base supports for the jhoola / swing as shown.

3. Place them  at at equal distance. The centre gap should measure 2". Then two popsicle sticks on front as well as at the back connecting the two pieces as shown in the picture below

4. Now cut  the seat of 2.7" pieces and join them with another two pieces as shown in the picture below

5. Now pierce hole into the stick edge on both ends of the sticks at the front and the rear with the help of a big sewing needle or compass needle.

6. Take a rope and put it through the hole on one side. Tie a knot below the seat to secure it.

7. Pass two beads through it. Keep one bead at the end touching the seat. Pass the rope around a popsicle stick and bring the thread down and pass it through the second bead and pass the thread through the other hole behind the first one and same way secure it with a knot. (do the same procedure for the other side too)

 8.  now place the stick on top of the base stand as shown in the picture below. Your Swing / Jhoola is ready now for decoration.

Jewellery Chest - Popsicle / ice stick craft

Got boosted by the reward yesterday. So sat up and made this beautiful jewellery chest to treat myself.... :-)

Easy fun project for kids.

 

This is how I made it

Materials :

1.  Popsicle sticks
2. Fevicol
3. Velvette cloth
4. Embellishments using pearls, chamkis etc
5. Glass colours
6. Gold glitter glue
7. Zari border

Step :1 :  For the base, arrange sticks like this :- (make - 2) one for base and other for lid

Step 2 : Place one stick on top and one at the bottom as shown in the pic (do this for both pieces)

One piece keep for lid (that is over. only decoration need to be done)

The other piece use for base & proceed as shown in the following pictures.

similarly arrange sticks two vertical over lapping the end place two horizontal - alternatively by applying glue on the ends till you get the desired height.

Once the box is ready, decorate it with the decoration materials.

 

 

Chest is ready to hold your treasures :-)

Card Holder - Popsicle / Ice stick craft

Got inspired by a work on the net. Presenting another easy fun project, the popsicle card holder. This can be used to store business cards or pape notes or small notepad.

 

This is how it was made :-

 

1. Stick the back & front portions to the base.
2. Stick the sides.
3. Card Holder is ready!

Cart - popsicle / ice stick / craft stick craft

Presenting another fun project bloomed in my mind using popsicle / ice stick / craft stick. This is going to be a nice decorative piece in your living room. I enjoyed this project, hope you will too. It took one day to set the cart. The second day to set the wheels.

Popsicle Cart - Mira's Creation :-)

I used the following materials

1. Popsicle Sticks
2. Craft Glue
3. Clay - to give a flat base for the wheels to stand
4. Pencil - axle for the weels
5. Carboard - to make wheels

Now as given in the picture below, arrange the sticks one after another till the end to make the base of the cart.

Now make the side portions of the cart by arranging the ice sticks as given in the following picture

Now stick the side parts to the base of the cart. Here for initial support you can use cello tape. keep support and adjust the angle of the sides to give a wide opening on top. Attach the V shaped stick to the front. leave it to dry undisturbed for that day.

Now the cart is ready!!

Now let us make the wheel :-

Roll out a clay into a long cylinderical piece, flatten it.

Draw two 3" circles using a compass on a cardboard and cut them. Make a whole by piercing it with a pencil. Place them on top of the flattened clay. Apply glue in the middle part of the clay through out and roll the cardboard piece.

Now take a pencil, measure the cart base and accordingly cut the pencil to form the axle connecting the two wheels. Cover the protruding end using little clay. Cut a popsicle stick & glue it in such a way that it covers the pencil and forms a flat space to support the cart.

I took a long route in making the wheels as I wanted to give it a different touch. Thermocol cut into round shape can also be used for wheels which makes your project easy.

Wheel is ready to hold the cart. Now place the cart on top of the axle. Popsicle Cart is ready!

Round Coaster - Popsicle / Ice Stick Craft

This is easy to make.

• Draw a circle on a cardboard piece and cut it along the lines. 
• Place this cardboard disc over the arranged sticks, draw outline. 
• Cut the line marked on the stick.
• Cut additional two pieces of stick to support it. (You can use the scrap pieces of the previous works to use as support sticks)
• Now glue the support pieces and arrange the sticks to shape.
• Round coaster is ready.
